We're still more than a year away from Marc Webb's reboot, The Amazing Spider-Man , but The Hollywood Reporter already has some news about the proposed sequel with the announcement that James Vanderbilt will be returning as screenwriter.Vanderbilt, whose credits also include Darkness Falls , Zodiac and The Losers , supplied the initial draft of the upcoming film (and was involved with the project when it was still a fourth part in Sam Raimi's cinematic series). Though The Amazing Spider-Man was subsequently updated by Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves, Sony clearly has a great deal of faith in Vanderbilt's abilities and looks prepped to get a sequel to Webb's film going as quickly as possible, following its July 3, 2012 release.
