Variety is reporting on two deals today.First up, DreamWorks has acquired Nic Kelman's original spec script Genneris . The studio is keeping the storyline under wraps, but it is said to be a high-concept sci-fi film.20th Century Fox has picked up the rights to the upcoming novel "Shatter Me" by Tahereh Mafi. Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark will produce the project through Fox-based Chernin Entertainment.The trade says the novel, set in a dystopian world, "is the story of a 17-year-old girl imprisoned for possessing a fatal touch. As she watches everything crumble around her, she must choose between relinquishing her power or use it to save the world."
