Smith and Washington to Go Uptown Saturday Night ?

Variety says that Warner Bros. Pictures is developing a remake of the 1974 buddy comedy Uptown Saturday Night with Overbrook Entertainment. David Dobkin ( Wedding Crashers , upcoming The Change-Up ) is attached to direct and executive produce the movie, to be written by Tim Dowling (upcoming This Means War ).Overbrook partners Will Smith, James Lassiter, Ken Stovitz and Jada Pinkett Smith will produce.The original was directed by Sidney Poitier and starred Bill Cosby and Poitier as two small time hustlers who loose a winning lottery ticket in a robbery. They scour the city and battle thugs to retrieve it.
